Customer Relationship Manager
Gareth is a well-known and respected figure in local business circles, having held senior positions with major companies on and off the Island since leaving the army, where he served in the Household Cavalry regiment. His military career saw him posted to Bosnia as part of the NATO peacekeeping operation.
Before joining Viking he was a senior consultant with leading training company TLC Business Solutions. He says he’s relishing the challenges his new role with Viking has brought: ‘This is an exciting opportunity for me,’ said Gareth. ‘I am already developing the role and taking it forward. Viking has always been a highly customer focused business, and I am working to grow the Viking brand through further developing and nurturing the relationship with clients. I see our role as a proactive one, always looking at ways customers can use technology to help them grow and develop their businesses.’ Gary is Viking’s “Laserfiche Champion”, so he co-ordinates and heads up the specialist department within Viking that sells and supports the world leading Laserfiche Document and Content Management System.
Gareth is already a renowned communicator, both through his role as a trainer, and in the local community where he is an active member of the Douglas Rotary Club and President of Douglas Rugby Club. Before returning to the Isle of Man Gareth was an award winning Sales and Marketing Manager for one of the top plc’s in the UK. His first posting on his return to his native Island was as Sales and Marketing Facilitator with Ramsey based Charterhouse.
Gareth, who is a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management, was brought up in the north of the Island, and educated at Ramsey Grammar School. He lives in Ramsey with wife Kate and has a six year old daughter, Sian.
